Jason Lantz has developed a reputation among clients, lawyers and judges as a fierce advocate in the courtroom, representing clients charged with felonies, DUI's, and misdemeanors. He believes there is no greater honor than being chosen to stand up to the government on a client's behalf.
Jason attended law school at the Seattle University School of Law where he was on the Dean's List and won the In-House Moot Court Competition. He graduated with honors in 2010. After graduating and passing the bar, Jason immediately started practicing criminal defense.
Jason has developed a state-wide reputation as a leader fighting Washington's new breath test machine, the Draeger Alcotest 9510. He leads a group of attorneys that has raised tens of thousands of dollars to hire experts such as software engineers, a chemical engineer, and a career metrologist to study the Draeger. He has spent hundreds of hours studying the Draeger and developing litigation strategies to attack it. In fact, he is regularly asked to train attorneys on how to attack the Draeger.
Jason is rated Superb on avvo.com and has all five-star ratings from clients. The regular theme in his reviews is that, not only is he a skilled lawyer, but he also cares about his clients. Jason believes that a client is more than just his or her case. Instead, he understands that each client deserves to be treated with dignity, courtesy, and respect. Therefore, Jason listens to each client to truly understand the whole person and their goals.
Jason is the Vice-President of the Citizens for Judicial Excellence (CJE) which is a political action committee with a mission to make sure that King County and Snohomish County judges treat clients with fairness and respect. CJE spends money to support judges who have the skill, experience, and demeanor to treat clients fairly and oppose those who do not.
Jason represents the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Washington Defender Association in Olympia on impaired driving legislative issues. He is often the sole voice for the defense at a working group where most DUI legislation originates. Therefore, Jason is ahead of the curve when it comes to DUI legislation in Washington.
In his free time, Jason enjoys practicing Krav Maga, a defensive combat technique. He also enjoys concerts, movies, and expanding his vinyl record collection.
